A wrap around skirt is a skirt made by folding a cloth to square piece 2 layers and cutting a smaller and larger concentric circle at two ends. Fire alarm in a restaurant

I was rally excited as I had a date at an upmarket restaurant. I seldom went out anywhere for dinner. I had put a lot of effort into my appearance and outfit. I arrived early and was taken to a table that my date had booked. Thankfully he arrived on time and started off the night with some fine wine. While we were engrossed in conversation an extremely loud siren went off and this man came racing into the restaurant with a hi vis fire warden vest. He told all the guests to remain calm as it was a false alarm. The man actually seemed annoyed that it was a false alarm. I guess he wanted to do something important.

Music composer

Well if I could have anything in the world it will be that I am a music composer and singer. I respect singers and it’s just an enthralling experience to just listen to a person singing melodiously. I can never imagine a world without music. It would be so dull and depressing. It’s music that lifts a sad person’s spirits, and be an inspiration to go forward. A person who creates great music and sing is always remembered by everyone with awe. If I was a music composer I would create music out of anything I can find me day to day life, like waste baskets, plastic bottles, tins etc and spread the word around the world of recycling all these stuffs for a better use.

The bond I share

What means most to me is the bond I share with my parents and my close relatives. Through all the high and low times they have stood by me. It’s very difficult to find relations who actually support you rather than backstab you. I have been blessed with good ones. My cousins have become my true friends and it’s with them that I have spent most of my memorable times with. It feels very upsetting when one of them lets you down more than anyone else. There is not one month meeting without which we have lived. The presents shared are the most precious time we have laughed together.

Joint family

I used to live in a joint family in Kerala till my teen ages. It was fun living as the only girl among 4 cousin brothers. I was pampered like hell. One of my most nostalgic memories is one in which we used to play hide and seek. There was lot of trees in our compound which allowed us to climb and hide on the thickly covered branches. The seeker would be so distressed. Once during playing I hid on the low mango tree. I being the smallest was the most agile. I was able to climb to a pretty high branch. What I didn’t know was that it was covered with ants. The ants took some time to start biting though. When the intensity of biting increased I fell of the tree losing my grip. The seeker immediately got me making me do the first found persons punishment of drinking bitter gourd juice.

Fun represents lots of laughter and relaxation for me. Mostly chattering away with my friends and cousins is the most fun time I have had. Dance is another fun thing. Freestyle, Hip-hop, classical; can be anything which will just let me move. For a lesser energy consuming fun I prefer jewelry making and interior designing artifacts creation. It’s so satisfying in a creative as well as fun way. Another great way of fun is simply reading Calvin and Hobbes. It’s just awesome to imagine the expressions of Calvin in each scene realistically. He has been my hero for a long time.

Soya chunks karma

One of the most recent hit dinner dishes I prepared was the Soya chunks karma. It was a totally raved hit as the taste simply resembled that of chicken karma. Since my family has decided to be vegetarian for 2 months it was definitely a comfort to taste something similar. The dinner started off with a cream soup with mushroom and served with pappad instead of the usual bread pieces. This gave a crispy texture to the soup. As starter deep fried vegetables was served, then the main course of chappathi with Soya chunks kurma. The dinner was winded of with fried ice-cream and mango served with vanilla custard.

Very bad hit on economy

The current recession has is talked about as a very bad hit on economy. What I will believe that will help us get through this is the survival instincts. Consider this that due to high vegetable prices my family has started planting all kinds of daily used vegetables and the house budget has reduced to half of what it was. Also usage of solar lightings, heating also has reduced our power bills. Since the recession has hit it’s also good to see that the rush for IT jobs alone has reduced and more people are willing to looking into other outlets of jobs in construction, mechanical and self- developed business concepts.

My puppy

My day started with my puppy licking me awake 2 hours before my usual time. Then the power had to go which left my cooking to be done all manually with all grinding in mortar and pestle. Thank God at least the power came half way through my washing. My day usual starts dragging by the end of 11 an m. Then it’s TV, music and painting. My current painting I have named as Girl in a field. It represents my likings to a life with nature and the spirit of enjoying simple things as wind, flower, sunset. Also cooking is becoming a passion developed to impress parents but which has changed to an obsession to experiment. It’s time for my puppy’s lunch so that the next agenda.
