Important Senior Home Safety Tips

The most common injury to an elderly person is due to falling. Simple senior home safety tips can be applied to reduce the risk of falling in a home. One tip is to always make sure the floors and walkways are always object free, and any rugs on the floor should have rubber backing or be firmly taped to the floor to avoid sliding. If there are any stairs in the home, they need to be clear of objects as well and any loose steps should be fixed. Lighting should be placed along the stair case as well. Bath tubs are a common place for seniors to slip and fall. A non-stick rubber mat should be applied to the tub or shower floor to reduce slipping. Fire alarm in a restaurant

I was rally excited as I had a date at an upmarket restaurant. I seldom went out anywhere for dinner. I had put a lot of effort into my appearance and outfit. I arrived early and was taken to a table that my date had booked. Thankfully he arrived on time and started off the night with some fine wine. While we were engrossed in conversation an extremely loud siren went off and this man came racing into the restaurant with a hi vis fire warden vest. He told all the guests to remain calm as it was a false alarm. The man actually seemed annoyed that it was a false alarm. I guess he wanted to do something important.

A Tree Fort to Remember

We built a really cool tree fort when I was a kid. I remember it like it was yesterday. We actually had an old metal fire escape ladder leading up the tree into the fort. We had run an extension cord up there and had a television that we pulled up by a rope. It was really cool, beyond anything that we had originally imagined. We slept a few nights in the fort before we tired of it and went back to finding something else to occupy our caprice. What a great childhood memory. I love thinking back on that sort of stuff.

Life of a clutz

At times I can be incredibly clumbsy. Most of my friends often like to refer to me as a complete clutz. I seem to trip over everything. Yesterday I happened to bump into the fire hose spare and lost my footing. It was terrible. I managed to sprain my ankle. I had to limp back to my desk and secretly elevated my leg under the desk. Luckily it was not a bad strain as I could still walk, well very slowly. When I think about it, I seem to sprain my ankle quite a bit. I think I better pay more attention where I am walking.

Get It Painted The Way You Want

My fire safe safes were awesome because it was made just for me. I was glad that having security for the home could be so cute. I went out and had the nerve to get it painted a particular color. I got it painted my favorite color which was pink. I know that is so girly. If some guy tries to steal it he is going to look like an idiot walking down the street with it. He is going to surely be stopped. Unfortunately, I wasn’t pleased with the way that things were going with the guy that was going to install it.
