Eggs, Rice, and Tomato-Oh my!

During my six years as a college student, I learned to be very creative with food. With eggs, rice, and tomato, I could make dozens of dishes that with a little spices and seasoning taste widely different. Eggs provide protein and a lot of flavor and rice is very filling. Tomato brings additional vitamins and a wider range of possibilities for dishes. I can cook Mediterranean, Indian, and American cuisines without straining my food supply or diminishing my palate.  I can eat scramble eggs alone for breakfast, eat rice alone for lunch, and mix it up with tomatoes for dinner. Yum!

Increase your safety of Life

The carbon monoxide detector is very useful in places where the high intensity of Carbon monoxide occurs. There should have to be a rule to install carbon monoxide detector/alarm in every house in those Industrial places. The adults don’t face that much problem compared to children. The children who born in these industrial areas will get suffered from so many diseases relating to respiratory system. There should be some alternative also if the carbon monoxide detector or the alarm shows high amount of carbon monoxide in the house. We can wear some mask or can close the windows or use some other alternative to avoid carbon monoxide from entering into the house. So it’s important to install carbon monoxide detector alarm in every houses, even it’s safe to install these device in every house which helps them to monitor carbon monoxide contend in the air in check.

As the Sun Sets in Barcelona

The most beautiful place in the world is Barcelona, Spain. If you visit during the summer, be sure to watch the sunset near the Sagrada Familia. The modern spires accent the skyline and evoke spirituality in the least religious of people. The shadows accentuate the scenes around the building. If you are lucky, you will be one of the few to sit and watch, rather than one of dozens pacing by, talking on their cell phone. There are many grassy areas on which to sit and make a note in your journal as you reflect on humanity and the power of architecture as art.

Living Without Debt

Credit cards

Image via Wikipedia

I am currently in debt for about $70,000. Most of this includes student loans but some of it extends to credit cards and medical bills. It would be wonderful to be relieved of this burden through the lottery. I doubt that I have a chance of winning the lottery since I don’t make a habit of playing and the statistics are not in favor of the person buying the ticket. If, in some alternate universe, I were to win, it would allow me to travel more and spend more time (and money) pursuing hobbies. I would also spend more money on getting another degree.

Making Memories

My family loves to decorate the Christmas tree. The day after Thanksgiving we unpack the boxes from the attic and put up our fake tree. The ornaments from my childhood go up first, followed by the metallic globes that are known to shatter at least twice before the season is over. I want to adapt the tradition to include a real tree. I’ll keep the ornaments with all of the stories and the fond memories, but a real tree will give it an added sense to remember. I hope one day I have children to pass along the ornaments I made at their age.

Honeymooners in London

I met the love of my life in England. We were both there as international students and fell in love with such rapidity that our friends were delirious with happiness. As students, our budgets were tighter than we had expected and as a result we did not travel much during our stay. It would be wonderful to go to London for our honeymoon and experience all of the touristy things we couldn’t afford the first time around. We could ride the London Eye and shop at Harrod’s. It would help us remember how we met while also providing conversational fodder for parties for years to come.

What do you do with a B.A. in English?

At the ripe old age of 24, I have not achieved many grand accomplishments in my life. I am not a Pulitzer Prize winner, nor a Nobel Peace Prize nominee. I am pleased to note, however, that I recently gained my Bachelors degree in English, Literature. It was stressful but I put myself through college. Of additional interest, I am not a teacher and yes, I am currently unemployed. A great achievement I hope to one day achieve would be to publish a widely acclaimed novel. In the meantime, I am content to engage in frivolous writing exercise.

Life as a Leafy Seadragon

Ever since my first (and only) trip to Sea World, I have been fascinated with Leafy Seadragons. They are so beautiful and graceful. I am not terribly graceful in my life above water and would gladly entertain the idea that I could be so flowing and fabulous a creature for two years. In my underwater home, I could enjoy the benefits of having my male mate carry around the children while I explore the sea and eat plankton all day long. I would still maintain my human quality of being a very slow swimmer. I think I would feel quite comfortable and enjoy it.

Panic Bars and your safety in a Fire

When a fire breaks out in a confined and closed space, panic grips everyone present. It is natural to run for the fire exit and try and save your life. But this very panic can cause more damage than good. These fire exits are specifically designed for emergencies and one must be familiar with these exits. Most of these exits have special bars called panic bars for doors that actually allow you to open the exit quickly and make good your escape. These panic bars have latches and bolts and open when these latches are pulled or pushed. These bars are so designed that they work without threatening the safety and security of any building. They are merely meant to be used in an emergency such as a fire.

Heaven and the Individual

I was raised a Southern Baptist in southern Georgia. We sang hymns every Sunday about the “streets of gold beyond the crystal sea.” Today, I am a proud atheist. I believe Heaven is in the head of the individual. We tell ourselves what we need to in order to justify our actions. I justify my actions by telling myself I can only make the world better or worse in my actions for the day, rather than hoping there is a Heaven where only a select few will be allowed. My heaven would include good food, good company and good entertainment.
