Fire safety is a very important general issue that everyone should be made aware of. Whether it is a home or an office, foam afff fire extinguishers should always be around. Fire drills are not required at homes but workplaces should regularly conduct fire drills and active participation in these fire drills is also absolutely necessary. Fire safety should also be actively taught in schools and colleges. It is important to not panic if a fire breaks out as panicking does not help matters. Most important of all in the case of fires, it is always better to take measures to prevent them.

Family traditions are the core of most families around the world. That may involve where to hang the Christmas stockings, leave hay for the camels, teeth under the pillow and so on. Each family, nationality or religion has their own set of traditions that they follow. We are a typical mix of nationality and tradition so it is hard to say which will stick and which will go as we raise our own family. So far we have stuck to the typical Christmas decoration traditions, as well as leaving the lights on all night Christmas Eve so Santa can find his way and the sky is lighted for Baby Jesus’ birth. We also have pork on New Year to try and temp the luck Gods our way. There are so many we were brought up with to choose from, some we did without knowing they were a “tradition”. You just did them. But either way, we are excited to get the next generation carrying the traditions forward.

When a couple gets married one of the bigger decisions is where to head on their honeymoon. We also faced this challenge and settled on Niagara Falls. It was close enough to home but also far enough away to feel like a true vacation. We didn’t know our friends, also our bosses, had another idea for us. They booked our destination spot in Kill Devil Hills, NC. We had a prime home on the beach and being just off-season we knew we would have pretty much sole access to those gorgeous beaches. We headed off the day after the wedding, much to my chagrin my lingering cold decided to kick in on the way down. My new husband was left to navigate most of the drive himself as my cold medicine kicked in and sent me to never never land. Once we arrived the cold was worth every minute, such pale golden sand back dropped by deep blue sea was a sight my eyes needed to see. And having my new husband there beside wasn’t too shabby either.

In our lives we all have moments of achievement, both large and small. Being on the younger side of life, I hate to think I have already achieved my greatest achievement but that may in fact be the case. To this point in my life, if asked, I would say my greatest achievement has been my children. To see yourself in your child is something that is often talked about, but I don’t think fully understood until you are looking at your child behaving just as you did. It is both a scary and wonderful moment. We have all been told at one point or another, I believe, to just wait until we have kids so they can do to us what we did to our parents. I know I heard that more than once growing up, now I find myself saying it to my kids. Honestly I can’t wait to see their “payback”.

If I had the ability to survive for a period of time underwater I think I would enjoy that time as a whale. Whales are such beautiful creatures, fascinating to watch and so full of life. The engage each other while traveling in packs yet can maintain their independence whenever necessary. They are gentle giants, such a huge mystery to us still. I would choose the whale to gain insight into how they live their daily lives in the vast waters of our oceans. Why they sometimes come inland and beach themselves, is it on purpose or a freak event that causes that occurrence? And how our treatment of the oceans, from fishing to oil spills and beyond, has affected them and their livelihood.

The age-old question of “Heaven” is one that has been around for decades and yet we can never fully know the answer until we are to leave this earth. In my life and experience, Heaven exists and I welcome the day I am called to join this magical, mystical place. When I let my mind wander to decorate this unknown land, I see it filled with everyone we have loved and will love. Background being beautiful colors on trees, flowers, and birds. Everyone and everything flying free and peaceful not having any of our earthly worries. Of course being a pet owner, I will first cross the Rainbow Bridge and collect all my furkids to bring them along for eternal peace.

I love my best friend with all my heart, and don’t know where I would be without her. She is always there when I need a friend. She was my best friend all through high school and my roommate in college. The only problem coming in the way of our friendship is her laugh. It’s a laugh that makes you cringe and want to hide your face. It is a loud, cackling laugh that makes everyone stop in their tracks to see out where that awful noise is coming from. I am generally a funny person, but when I’m in public with her, I go to all costs to avoid getting her laughing. She knows that her laugh is weird, but I don’t think she knows just how much it bothers me. If I were to tell her, she would probably be hurt and more self-conscious. I would never want to do that to her, so I just try and concentrate on her good qualities and do my best to ignore the laugh that makes me cringe.

I had just started working at my first “real” job, right out of college. I worked for an insurance company and had a well-paying job that had good working hours and conditions. During the first month while we were still in training programs, I made friends with a coworker in my class. She and I started having lunch together everyday and even hanging out after work. One day we went to lunch and were going to be a few minutes late. Instead of hurrying back, she decided we should go get dessert before we went back, only delaying us further. I didn’t want to tell her no and make her not like me. So I decided to go along with what she said, even though it was against my better judgment. We ended up being about thirty minutes late and I was reprimanded severely when I got back to work, and was eventually terminated for this. If I could go back in time, I would have tried to realize sooner that I should have kept my friendship with her to outside work and should have always tried to follow the rules. It would have allowed me to keep my job.

One of the valuable resources of nature, which is essential to heat any product, would be fire. It is mandatory to obtain a heat producing substance to produce fire. If I could only eat three things everyday for the rest of my life I would pick three things that I don’t think I would ever get tired of. These three items would be grilled chicken, broccoli, and chocolate cake. Most of my diet now involves some form of chicken, so only eating chicken everyday wouldn’t be that big of a change. I also should probably choose a something healthy each day and since broccoli is my favorite vegetable, I would choose broccoli. I also would need something that would be sweet and a “treat” everyday. I could never get tired of chocolate cake, and would definitely be able to eat it everyday.
