The Natural Me

I am at my best by the ocean.  The rhythm and cadence of the tides bring healing and peace to my spirit.  Sometimes I think it even helps the physical, but whether or not that is true, it certainly makes living with my imperfect physical self much easier.  Besides the surf sounds that give me such a deep stillness of soul, sensations I enjoy most at the ocean include salty breezes that brush my face, the warmth of the sun on my skin, the feeling of sand  beneath my feet and the fragrances that cannot be duplicated anywhere else.  There are times that I want my puppy beside me to enjoy these wonders with me, and there are times I want to be absolutely alone with the sensations my only companion.

Choose the best fire escape ladder

Sometimes the fire in a building breaks out without even the slightest warning and hence you need to be always prepared for such exigencies. One of the ways to do it is to equip your building well enough with the right tools, personnel and above all a fire esc ape devices. One such device is the large fire escape ladder. But when buying the ladder there are a few factors that you need to consider. The most important among them is the size and length of the ladder. Secondly you need to measure the size of your window and then decide on the ladder so that the ladder fits in exactly to the size of your window. Remember that all these factors can help you provided you building have adhered to the fire code set up by the concerned authorities, without which none of these devices can help you.

Community Involvement

I would like to bring more arts events to the public in my community.  Therefore, I guess I would need to be appointed by the mayor to head up a cultural resources council.  I’ve seen fine examples of this in two cities:  Syracuse NY and Pismo Beach CA.  These cities have numerous outdoor events that are free to the public and include all branches of the arts.  There are festivals for certain holidays and ethnicities with music and other performance arts, visual arts and cuisine to fit the occasion.  One would think that in NY, these would be limited to the summer months.  Not so!  There are special ones for winter that embrace the Golden Snowball mindset.  The downtown open air ice rink and Winterfest are just two examples of the fun that happens in the snow.

Playtime

My favorite game as a child was Scrabble.  It is still my favorite game today.  I played it with my parents, siblings and friends.  I think the reason that it is my favorite game is that I love words.  I enjoy learning new words and reading with a high degree of comprehension.  I was once editor of a school paper and created a column called “Daffynitions.”  I would choose a word that would likely be unfamiliar to the average student, stop other students in the hallways and ask what they thought the word might mean.  The answers were often hilarious.  Results would go into the school paper with the correct definition also included.  It was beneficial to all students (or at least I told myself it was) because it would give us all a chuckle while increasing our vocabularies.

Open Your Eyes and Read

Books have been my constant companion since I was a child.  Of course the one book that changed my life and that changes many lives is the Bible.  I came to Christ when I was only seven years old.  My mother and father disagreed about my salvation, with my dad being the one who insisted I was too young to make a decision like that.  My mother knew, as did I, that I knew exactly what I was doing and was sincere in accepting Jesus as my Savior.  Now it is impossible to know how differently I might have lived my life had I not come to Jesus through the Bible, but I am sure that it did change my life in many positive ways.

TV Time

When I have a chance to watch TV I like legal drama.  My first and second jobs out of school were for law firms and I always enjoyed trying to figure out how the cases would come out.  The first of the two firms had a specialist in divorce law and a specialist in labor law.  The second firm specialized in criminal law.  Of the two as you might surmise the second one was much more interesting.  That is where I developed my deep appreciation for legal drama and how the system plays out in a given plot.  A good legal drama rivets my attention and I try to figure out before it is revealed what the outcome will be just as I did in my second job.

Shopping Mania

If I had $500 to spend at the mall, the first thing I would buy is a Kindle cover.  I recently received a Kindle as a gift and need a cover to keep the screen clear of lint and dust when it is not in use.  After I met that immediate need, I would go to my favorite clothing store and pick out a complete new outfit from head to toe.  Just one set though, because I would also like to hit the sporting goods store and get some extras for golfing.  I think that would just about eat up the money.  If there is any left, it would be just enough for a stop at the food court for a special treat; maybe a soft pretzel or a cone of decadent ice cream.

My life in my point of view

I do not consider my life to be a fulfilled one. I have always felt that God has great plans for me and my life will not be fulfilled or complete until I am able to get a firm grasp on what my calling ultimately is. I thoroughly enjoy the volunteer work that I do. I receive a certain joy from exceeding ones expectations and providing them with a positive and memorable experience. I would like to continue to build my credibility and reputation in my local community in order to work bigger community projects. Once I am able to effectively help make things better for our children, I will feel a great achievement.

The person that has made the biggest impact on my life

Doing the best she can

My mother is the one person who has influenced my life the most. She carried me, nurtured me and raised me to be the individual that I am today, for better or worse. As a single parent she has had to make many sacrifices to provide for my brother and I. The older I get the more I notice how many similarities we have. I have also noticed that I work harder in those areas I felt she might have been weak at in parenting. Every experience we have had together has affected my life significantly in shaping the person I am.

Service of Fire Wardens

Fire is one of the wonderful discoveries of man. There are lots of ways in which it had enriched and added sophistication into human life. You can never imagine a day without the usage of fire. Though there are several other alternatives for fire for cooking and heating purposes, industries and power plants largely depend on their use. Fire is as dangerous as it is useful. It easily spreads and destroys things and lives in massive amounts if there is a mishap. In such a situation the need of a “fire warden” in any city or town becomes an essential one. They are trained personnel who do the most important task of life saving in a locality when there is a fire accident, as well as teach his crew to wear the proper attire like the fire warden vest. There many safety measures that they can take in order to save lives of people and to protect themselves now due to the advancement in science and technology.
