Dear Jesus, Why Do We Fight?

I would want to meet Jesus.  I would not want to meet him for any religious reason, because personally I do not associate myself with any kind of religion.  However, I feel that much of the reason why humans in this world fight is over religious differences.  I would have a few questions for Jesus, and I would want to know the “real truth” about certain claims in the bible and by certain religions.  I don’t think this would make things better right away, but at least it would be a step towards finding out the real truths of what happened thousands of years ago.

An Annual Summer’s Dream

I still work at the longest job I’ve ever held, and I work as a camp counselor in the summer for children.  I’ve had it since I was 13 years old.  I love this job because it’s something along the lines of what I want to be when I graduate from college.  Every day for a month during the summer I get to play tag and have “snack time” with kids ages 4-8, and I’ve also learned a lot about myself.  I’ve learned patience, which is a vital skill I need for my future career.  Most of all, this job is fun; I get to play with cool kids and be a kid myself all over again.

The Circus Performance of a Lifetime

Last year in March of 2009, my best friend and I went to a concert at a local event stadium to see Britney Spears and The Pussycat Dolls.  Normally I’m not a Britney Spears or Pussycat Dolls fan, but he dragged me along and it wasn’t expensive anyways.  I’m really glad I went because it was amazing.  Britney’s headline theme was “Circus”, the title of her new album, and so it was like going to a circus.  She had performers and dancers juggling and doing tricks on stage while she sang, and the best part was we had awesome standing room tickets just 10 feet from the stage.

England, You Say?

I would choose to travel to England.  I have a few friends that moved to England from my high school when I was 16 years old, and I always remember them talking about it, because they were born there.  I’ve heard it rains a lot, but I don’t mind the rain.  I most want to see London and all of the neat things to do there, like see The Eye and Big Ben.  I’m a fan of Harry Potter too and I’ve heard they give Harry Potter tours that show you were the films were shot, and I think that would be an awesome experience.

Italy: A Dive Into My Own Heritage

The coolest place I’ve ever been to has to be Italy.  My mother was born there and about 90% of my family on her side lives there too, so when I was 11 we went to visit them.  I had never flown on a plane before, and I certainly had never been out of the country before.  When I got there, I met cousins and grandmother I never knew I had, I got to make brick oven pizza, see the Coliseum and learn a few Italian words.  I’m hoping to go back some day and visit again because I think I was too young to really appreciate everything.

The Daily Show Adventure

Today, I’ve been looking to get the Daily Show tickets for myself and my boyfriend when he comes to visit the last week of March.  This is a new process for me as I’ve never been to a taping of the Daily Show, and I recently found out how to access potential to get tickets, so I’ve been doing that for much today.  I had to sign up for Twitter, activate my mobile phone information and do a few things to have The Daily Show tweets to my phone, but I did it!  Hopefully a date will open up with tickets for the week he is going to be here, because neither of us has ever been to a taping before.

I am a huge baseball fan, and I am therefore thrilled that baseball season is rapidly approaching.  Spring training games began last week, and I am anxiously awaiting the start of the regular season in early April.  Baseball is my favorite sport to watch, and it is a fun sport that I am lucky to share a love of with my husband, sister, and parents. I am especially looking forward to this baseball season, since my hometown team the Minnesota Twins is opening a new ballpark, which I’m looking forward to being able to go see.  Baseball season is always fun, and this season should be even more fun with the new ballpark!

Current Book Series – Sword of Truth/Legend of the Seeker

I am currently in the middle of reading a series of books known either as the Sword of Truth or Legend of the Seeker series.  They are written by Terry Goodkind, and they are wonderful books!  My husband read them and really enjoyed them, and encouraged me to read them.  I didn’t expect to enjoy them as much as I have, since the fantasy type books are not usually my favorites, but these books feature wonderful characters and very interesting storylines which always keep me coming back for more.  I look forward to finishing the rest of the series, to help get closure on the many different storylines that are currently running through the books, and to learn how everything ends.
